A Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence is required when manned guarding activities are carried out through the use of Closed Circuit Television equipment to:
1. Monitor the activities of a member of the public in a public or private place.
2. Identify a particular person.
This includes the use of CCTV in these cases to record images that are reviewed on non- CCTV equipment, but excludes the use of CCTV solley to identify a trespasser or protect property.
Level 2 Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry (RQF) qualification over 3-days.
Covers the two mandatory units.
Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry.
Principles and Practices of Working as a CCTV Operator in the Private Security Industry.
Course is assessed through multiple choice examinations and practical assessments throughout the course.
Once the qualification has been achieved it will allow the learner to apply to the SIA (Security Industry Authority) for their CCTV Licence.
Pre-requisite:
Must be over 18 years of age to apply for an SIA Licence.
Must hold the equivalent of a Level 1 in English or be willing to undergo an Initial Asessment with us prioe to enrollling onto the course.
